Evening Wedding
JONES—BROCKBANK St. John’s Anglican Ghurch, Awanui, was the scene of a pretty evening wedding on January 28, when Merle, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Brockbank, of Victoria Valley, v/as married to Edward Tane, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.' L. Jones, of Awanui. The Rev. G. O. Adams officiated and the organist was Mrs. E. Rule The bride, who entered the church on the arm of Mr. J. Clarke, wove a charming gown of white slipper satin, fashioned with a long bodice, to which was- gathered a full skirt fin!Pud with a long train. The neckline of the frock was finished with dainty heartshaped motifs. The bride’s veil of tulle was held in place by a halo ot orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of Christmas lilies and pom-pom dahlias. In attendance as bridesmaids were two sisters of the bridegroom, the Misses Ellen and Elizabeth Jones They wore frocks of white taffeta, with long, pin-tucked bodices finished with tiny buttons and full circular skirts. Both carried bouquets of ScanJet amyrilis and dahlias and wore halos of the same flowers. . Second Lieutenant W. Berghan, cousin of the bridegroom, acted as best man and the duties of grooms • man were carried out by Mr. Steve Duzevich. The bride’s mother wore a navy 7 frock with navy accessories, and the bridegroom’s mother was attired in a floral ensemble and hat to Lone, Both ladies carried posies to tone with their frocks. The reception and dance was held in the Parish Hall, Awanui
