Emergency Precaution Scheme There was a large attendance at the meeting which was held in the Peria Halil last week for the purpose of discussing the Emergency Precautions Scheme. Mr. Barriball presided. It was decided to form a local committee to deal with the district’s requirements ; the committee is as follows : Chairman—Mr. J. Pearson; Secretary—Mr. S. Ironside ; Committee Messrs. G. Adamson, W. Skipper, Honi W. Kaitaia, A. Trigg. Purely Personal Mr. and Mrs. Birdsall and daughters Judith and Margaret, Miss Snell and Mr. and' Mrs. Kirk return this w r eek from their school vacation. Master G. McPherson of Mangatoitoi has been spending the holidays with his aunt, Mrs. E. G. McPherson. Messrs. Hendrickson and Nelson who have for the past fortnight been surveying in Oruru have left the district. Mr. F. Jacentho is m a business visit to Whangarei. Alastair and- Margaret Frew who have been spending the school holidays with their grandparents, Mr. arid Mrs. Maria, have returned to their home in Awanui.
