Mrs. Norman Maxwell Passes Away

The death occurred on Tuesday morning in the Rawene Hospital, of Mrs. Norman Maxwell of Wharerakau. Mrs. Maxwell, who was the fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Foster of Whangarei, will be remembered by a number of people as a member of the Mangonui County Council staff when the office was removed from Mangonui to Kaitaia. Later she was a nurse in the Mangonui County Hospital. Mrs. Maxwell was aged 43, and though she had been ill for a few days with influenza complicated with severe bronchitis, her removal to hospital on Monday and subsequent death on Tuesday morning was a great shock to relatives. Wide-spread sympathy has been expressed to her bereaved husband and two young children. Mrs. Maxwell was of a particularly bright, happy disposition and will be sadly missed by a large circle of friends. The funeral was at Rawene cemetery on Wednesday.
