An amusing story is going the rounds. A certain young Wellingtonian chancing to meet a pal who had recently got married asked him jokingly how he liked matrimony. “I feel like a boy again,” laughed the newlymade benedict. “I’m smoking on the sly once more!” Of course there are wives, even now, who don’t smoke and object very strongly to their husbands smoking, and it must be confessed that brands of tobacco there are the smoke from which is rank and offensive.
