From Our Correspondent at AWANUI
Purely Personal Miss Merna McLeod is at present in the Kaitaia Hospital, having undergone an operation. Mr. H. E. Raffills is back from his holiday. Mrs. Raffills is still an inmate of the Waikato Hospital. Mrs. J. Frew is on holiday in uckland, having made the trip with Mr. Bedford and his daughter. Mrs. C. Ball is home from Hakaru. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Dykins and their son Earle have returned from a very enjoyable holiday tour. Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Thompson and their son Colin 'leave today on a holiday tour of the North Island. Dredging at Awanui Dredging operations are in full swing at Awanui and have already made a noticeable difference to the depth of the river. Boats coming up now are not experiencing any difficulty at the Factory corner of the river. The spoil is being used to form a footpath from the bridge towards the school.
