Show Day is Coming

The thrill of the year for old and ycung alike should be provided by the Mangonui A. and P. Association’s show on Saturday, March 2, when ring events, cattle judging, garden and farm produce and home industries will all hold honoured places in the schedule of the “great day.” Several classes omitted from the published schedule have now been advertised. They include a bacon pig competition open to members of the Young Farmers’ Clubs. Competitors are to place five selected pigs. A silver cup has been presented by the Kaitaia Young Farmers’ Club to be won twice in succession, or three times at intervals. The 1939 winner was Mr. J. H. Gray. A miniature cup is presented by Mr. H. M. Thompson. In the horse events a prize of £1 is donated by Mr. R. D. Lupton for the best child rider, classes 7-8-9.
