Wedding
THOMAS—TALBOT
A wedding of interest to a wide circle of friends in the North, took place at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, Remuera, Auckland, on November 24, when George Oliver, only son of the late Mr. George Thomas and Mrs. Sarah Annie Thomas of “Kaurinui,” w j as married to Hilda Elizabeth, third daughter of the late Mr. Talbot and Mrs. Talbot, Timaru, South Canterbury. The Rev. Canon R. L. Connolly performed the ceremony. The bride wore a frock of white floral georgette with a pattern of roses and cornflowers. The bodice made with pin tucks and puffed elbowlength sleeves, was worn with a navy silk sash. She wore a navy widebrimmed hat trimmed with red roses and ribbon to tone, and navy shoes to match. Mrs. Thomas, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy uncrushable silk crepe patterned in white flowers and leaves. A navy hat of fine weave trimmed with narrow white corded ribbon was worn. Mrs. Peel, aunt of the bridegroom, was wearing a brown corded frock with a velvet hat and white feathered wing and a fur-trim-med coat. After the usual congratulations, the wedding party motored to the home of Mrs. Frowde of Remuera where the reception was held. The room was beautiful with large bowls of watsonias and boltonia daisies. After'the reception the happy pair left on their honeymoon by motorcar for the south. Engagement The engagement is announced of Isabel Jane Rae, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Cowie, Church Road, Kaitaia, to Lloyd Charles, youngest son of Constable C. H. G. Clifford of Hamilton.
