1.0.0. F. LODGE NOTES

On Monday evening last at the conclusion of the fortnightly meeting of the Kaitaia 1.0.0. F. Lodge, the Koa Ret ekah Lodge joined with the Oddfellows for the purpose of tendering a social evening and making a presentation to the newly weds, Mr. and Mrs. L. Gallagher, both of whom are prominent and popular members in their repective lodges. The evening commenced with dancing and games alternately, with everyone joining in, until supper-time when a dainty supper was served and silence prevailed. At this juncture, Bro. Rickard on behalf of both Lodges, in a few well chosen words presented the guests of the evening with a handsome silver teapot, Bro. Gallagher, as is usual for the first three months of married life, had all the say on behalf of Sister Gallagher and himself, in expressing sincerest thanks for the handsome gift and the kind wishes. The evening continued with further games, dancing and items by members ; a notable feature of the evening which was thoroughly enjoyed by all lovers of good music, was the outstanding renderings by that versatile pianist, Bro. Knight.
