ORURU - PERIA WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

A meeting of the Oruru-Peria Women’s Institute was held in the Oruru Hall on April 7. Mrs. Barriball presided over a good atendance of members. The meeting opened with the Institute ode and creed. The motto was : Keep your face always to the sunshine and the shadows will fall behind you. The competition, fruit salad, was won by Mrs. T. Tayloi-, Mrs. Walton being second. Juniors : Miss Joy Taylor and Miss C. Mclnnes first, Miss Flora Forsythe second. A dainty lunch and afternoon tea was served by Mesdames F. Jacentho, N. Jacentho, Walmsley and Hilford.
