Wedding

WILSON —WILKINS The wedding was celebrated quietly on Easter Saturday morning of Lillian Elizabeth, second daughter of Mr. Wilson and the late Mrs. Wilson of Takahue, to Ernest Charles Murray, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins of Hamilton. The ceremony was held in the Presbyterian Church, Kaitaia, which was prettily decorated for the occasion. Ilev. W. H. Nicholas was the officiating minister and Mr. Bruce Foster played the wedding music. The bride who entered the church with her brother-in-law, Mr. M. Fisher, looked very dainty in a frock of white satin beaute, cut on slimming lines, with cowl neckline and long lace sleeves. Her lace veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms, and a sheath of dahlias and asparagus fern, completed a charming toilette. The bridesmaid was Miss Florence Black who wore a beautiful frock of sunrise venus satin, made with high neckline, fastened with a large bow. The full sleeves were of lace with satin inlet and the slim fitting skirt was flared from the knees. She also wore a picture hat and carried - a bouquet of cactus dahlias and asparagus fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Albert Wilson as bestman. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Foster’s rooms, and the usual toasts were honoured. The bridegroom’s mother received the guests, attired in a navy ensemble and carried a bouquet of gold pom pom dahlias. The happy couple later left by car, the bride wearing a navy costume with accessories to tone. Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins are making their home in Hamilton.
