Mr. Leydon, of Awanui, left on Monday on a business trip to Auckland. Mrs H. F. Ross, of the Waikato, wlio lias been tbe guest of Mr. and Mrs A. H. Woods, Kaitaia, returns South this week end. Mrs G. Millar returns to Kaitaia this week. Mr. and Mrs Yendell leave this week end for Auckland and South. Mr. and Mrs A. D. Foster have returned to Kaitaia from a motor tour South. Miss Elsie Geard is on a visit to the Queen city. Miss D. Carver, of Noble’s, has returned from holidays. Miss Wilma Taafife returned to school in Auckland this week. Mrs. Val Evans,of Church Itoad, is on a visit South. Mrs. It. G. Brien and Mr. lan Brien left last week end for a holiday in the Hawkes Bay district. Miss Walker, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs Brien, accompanied them on the trip. Mr. D. J. McKay, of Mangonui, visited Auckland this week. Mr. R. Swartz, of Matamata, who has b j en on an extended visit to Mangonui has leturned home. Mr. and MrsG Rickard return to Kaitaia this week end after a holiday trip t i Australia. Mrs Kuuicich, of Kaitaia, leaves over the week end, on a motor trip to Hamilton. Mr. T. S. Mckeowu left this week end on a holiday visit to Auckland, Mr. and Mrs Spain, old residents of Awanui, are revisiting the district. Mrs Ellis of Russell has been appointed relieving teacher at Mangonui school. Mr. H. C. Anderson, of Mangonui, is on a visit to the Waikato. Mr. B. Role, of the Mangonui Bank of Australasia staff is on his annual leave. Mr. Runciman is relieving. Mr. F. J. Penman, of the Awanui Post Office staff, who was injured in a motor accident on the Awanui road some months ago and who has been an inmate of the Kaitaia Hospital since, has recovered sufficiently to be put in plaster of paris and go to his home in Pukekohe. It will be some time yet before Mr. Penman is able to resume duties. Prior to her departure from Ahipara to take up her duties on the staff of the Omanaia native school, Miss Mercia Urlicli was tendered a farewell dance by the people of Ahipara last Friday. On behalf of the gathering Mr. H. Nathan presented a tangible memento to the guest of honour. Miss G. Johnston, of Kaitaia, has been appointed to tbe staff of tbe Pukepoto native school. Mr. and Mrs Harry Parker and Mrs R. Coulter, of Fairburus, motored through to Whangarei for the week end.
