Mr. and Mrs. W. Marsh, of Wellington, are visiting the district. Miss M. C. K. Sheilock, of Epsom, is the guest of Mr. ; n 1 Mrs. Wilfred Jaceutho, at Taipa. Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Switzer, at one time residents of Kaitai i, paid a visit to the district during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. I. Wei lion rne and family, of Rotorua, are paying an extended visit to Aurere. Mr. E. Wood, assistant teacher at the Waiharara School, and Mrs. Wood, are spending their holidays at I’eria. Miss Esther Matthews has returned after an extended holiday spent in the South. Miss J. S. Walsh of Auckland, has returned after a short visit to her parents at Houhora. Mrs. A. H. Puckey and her daughter Del left this week for a holiday tour of the South. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Yondell, with Miss Winnie Berglian left yesterday morning for a tour of the North Island. Mr. and Mrs. Hurt and child of Auckland, are spending their holidays as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ryan, Kaitaia. After a short illness, Grace, aged 9, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Hilton-Jones died of diphtheria in the Mangonui Hospital last Sunday. Mr. J. M. Dawson, of Victoria Valley who has been in Auckland for the past fortnight returned this week. Messrs R. Smith and W. Kirton of Kaitaia passed in some of the subjects fer the accountancy examination for which they sat last month. Mr. R. L. McNabb, headteacher of the Waiharara School, and Mrs. McNalb have motored to Christchurch for the holidays. Mrs. J. F. Jack of Central Otago, is on an extended visit to her relations and friends in our Northland, and is at preseut the guest of her sisters Mesdames A, Berghan and N. Rowe of Ilerekitio and Omapero respectively. Mr. Sydney Hollay accompanied by his fiancee Miss Bradley of Napier, returned to Gisborne on Wednesday after a brief visit to his parents in Kaitaia. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Hollay and family of Kaitaia are leaving this week-end for the Houhoia Heads on a camping holiday. Mr. Hollay is on annual leave. Messrs J. Feeney and T. Satterthwaite of the Kaitaia Post Office Staff were successful in passing a Departmental Examination for which they sat a few weeks ago. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hollis, of Cambridge, have been spending a holiday in the district. Mr. Hollis was horn in the district, his father at one lime owning “Grasstnere", Pukepoto.
