Inter County Draughts Tournament
An all day draughts tournament between teams from the Hokianga and Mangonui counties was held at Broadwood last week. The Hokianga team was: Messrs Benson, Birch, Gregory McGrath, Harding and Humphrey ; and the Mangonui team: Messrs Beacham Dutton, J. Geddes, Sen., J. Geddes Jun. H. Geddes, Keay Some games were keenly contested and many draws resulted. The result was a win for Hokianga, the totals being Hokianga 84 points, Mangonui 56 points. The highest individual scores (possible 24) were : —A. Gregory 20 points, W. Benson 17, T. Keay 16.
