Awanui Cricket Dance.

The Awanui Cricket Club was again unfortunate in weather conditions for its dance last Tuesday, when the wet night was responsible for a small attendance, but the function proved enjoyable to those who braved the elements.

Music was provided by the Versatile Orchestra, Miss N. Beazley playing an extra. Mr J. Feeney acted as M.C;. Mr. G. Tyler, Captain of the Club, thanked those present and the ladies of Awanui for their generous support and spoke highly of the good work of the energetic Secretary, Mr. Peter Samuels, who was the main organiser of all the Club’s affairs.

A dainty supper was rerved by the ladies and members of the Club during which talkie music was played and much appreciated.
