Oruru-Fairburn Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd.
The monthly meeting of directors of the Oruru-Fairburn Cooperative Dairy Factory Co., Ltd., was held in the company’s office on Monday, the 17th, the chairman, Mr. J. W. Hoskin, presiding. Since last season some alterations have been made to tne factory and a new 1 100-gallon glass-lined insulated vat installed, also a new steam engine. The whole plani is now in perfect order and working most satisfactorily and capable of dealing with a big increase. In keeping with other dairy factories, “dairy” butter shows an increase to date of 24 per cent over corresponding period last yoar. The butter grade notes show a decided improvement even on last season’s good figures, only one small churning (the first) being second grade; all since being first, the 500 boxes prior to the 7th insi. grading 92. . Daring this month 86‘5 per cent of cream received has been superfine and only ‘6 second grade— l most satisiactory to.all concerned seeing the cream is collected every other day. Suppliers received an advance of iSd for September tat, also a further %d on “the second pool.” A motion to ignore the Summer Time Bill so far as cream carting contracts are concerned was carried by 6 to 2. The next meeting of directors will be held on Monday, November 2ist.
