Paranui Pars.
(From our own Correspondent). Social Evening. A most enjoyable social evening was held in the Paranui Hall, on June 16th. Favoured with a fine evening, all the inhabitants except a few who were suffering from the common complaint of flu rolled up. The Rev. Mr Grice made an efficient chairman. The evening’s amusements consisted of songs, musical items, recitations, games and competitions. Songs were rendered by Mrs G Ryeland, Miss Margaret Blythe, Messrs R Grice, L Blythe and G Ryeland and recitations by Mrs T and Miss E Taylor, Messrs H Baker, E Morroill, A Hancox and R Grice. Musical items were given by Messrs R Gjrice and A Hancox. Misses Doris, Kathleen, and Edna Blvthe and J Taylor gave an exhibition of Highland dancing. After partaking of a most delightful supper provided b- {he ladies, the evening w^ s br ' llght Lang * b " “ in S in g of Auld A Methodist service conducted by the Rev Mr Grice was held at Mrs. Taylor senr’s, the following evening. „
