END OF WINTER RACING
PROSPECTS FOR TO-MORROW Excellent acceptances have been received fqr the Combined Taranaki and Egmont-Wanganui Hunt Clubs’ meeting at New Plymouth to-morrow. This is looked upon as the wind-up of the winter racing, and will be followed by the spring fixtures commencing with Wanganui and Avondale, which have their two-year-old flutters, and three-year-old semi and classic races. During the next three months students of form will And it very unreliable. partly on account of variation in tracks during spring and early summer, but mostly on account of the uncertainty of two-year-old form and of the great variation in three-year-olds. Frequently good two-year-olds do not maintain their reputation when three-year-olds. Again, many of our hiiddle distance performers have had a spell over the winter months, and while some come to hand quickly others need some racing to bring them to concert pitch.
