Wellington This Day. “The society lias not at uny time been asked by the Prime Minister or any other Minister to give its views on the question of the extension of the term of the Chief Justice,” said the president of the New Zealand Law Society, Mr. H. F. O’Leary, K.C.. when invited yesterday to indicate the society’s attitude. During the last few days he as president of the society bad been ascertaining by telegram Ihe views of the district law societies, added Mr. O’Leary. At present he was not in a |>o»ition to divulge the views, expressed. These would be considered at the quarterly meeting of the council of the society on September 7.
