AT THE PICTURES
Majestic: Finally this evening, “Two Tickets to London.” To-morrow and on Friday, “Enter Arsene Lupin” and “Gert and Daisy’s __ W e ek-end.” The double-fea-ture programme which starts to-morrow will have excitement and laughter as the main elements. The first is one of the adventures of the French character so well-known in mystery fiction a few years ago. The other film is the first to bring Elsie and Doris Waters, so well-known, on the radio, to the screen.
State: Commencing Friday. “Wing and a Prayer,” starring Don Ameche, Dana Andrews, William Eythe, Charles Bickford and Sir Cedric Hardwicke. This is described as a thrillingly exciting and heartwarming human epic, the screen’s first great drama of our aircraft carrier force in action. It is a stirring salute to the navy men of the sky. The screen is flooded with humour, adventure and drama of life aboard an aircraft carrier. It also reveals the amazing story behind the strategy that paved the way for victory over the Japanese.
