Half a head; half a length. Hula Chief was fourth. Time, 1.27 1-5. The totalisator turnover of £39,959, was an all-time record for the club, exceeding by £B4O the previous best in 1925, on the day that Gloaming and The Hawk met in the Ormond Memorial.
