TAKAKA TOWN BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING
The following were present at a meeting of the Takaka Town Board: Messrs N. L Bensemann (chairman), E. A. Polglase, K. Page. L. G. McKinnon. and E. C. Wadsworth. The board decided to support the Takaka District High School Committee in its efforts to obtain a dentist for Golden Bay. Mr T. A. Urwin, for Millers LtdNelson. applied for a permit to renovate Langridge’s B ding. The permit was granted : ».iect to the approval of the Building Controller. The chairman of the Soil Conservation and River Control Council wrote with reference to the menace of soil erosion in New Zealand. The Clerk Mr G. Boyes, was authorised to supply the necessary information. It was decided that the chairman and Mr McKinnon make an inspection of the street lights with the Engineer of the Power Board and report at the next ' meeting. j It was resolved that the Town Board I approach the County Council with a ; view to appointing (provisionally) a ■ victory celebration committee and arranging a tentative celebration proi gramme. The chairman and Mr Mc- ; Kinnon were appointed to represent j the Town Board and other suitable reI presentatives were to be added to the provisional committee !
