NORTHERN IRISH SACRIFICE

PARLIAMENT BUILDING GATES FOR MUNITIONS (Rec. 10.40 a.m.) Rugby, June 22. The Northern Ireland Minister of Finance, Major J. M. Sinclair, announced that in view of the urgent demands for metal for war purposes the great ornamental gates at the entrance to the grounds of the Northern Ireland Parliament Buildings, near Belfast, are to be removed for conversion to munitions of war. The gates are of considerable artistic value. Over 5200 tons of gates and railings have been collected in Northern Ireland and 3340 tons have been shipped to Britain for further processing.—8.0. W.
