TRIBUTE PAID TO WOMEN WORKERS
MR BEVIN’S COMMENT (Rec. noon.) Rugby, Jan. 12. The Minister of Labour, Mr Bevin, speaking to railway workers to-day. paid a tribute to women workers. He said he had to do something done in no other country, namely to conscript women. "Women have responded in the most amazing manner. They have tipped the scales in this war. We could not have done the job we have done if they had not left their homes.” —8.0. W.
