ARMED RATION RIOTERS
PITCHED BATTLE IN PARIS London, Jan. 12. A pitched battle in Paris on 27th December. when armed ration card rioters invaded the office of the suburban mayor, is reported by the Hamburg “Fremdenblatt." Shots were exchanged, a policeman killed and a rioter severely wounded. The police took the injured man to hospital, which the rioters then stormed. The police called up reinforcements and dispersed the crowd. —P.A.
