GERMAN TROOPS IN NORWAY
REPORTS OF MUTINIES London, Nov. 26. German officers and men in chains aboard German ships travelling south have been seen from cliffs in northern Norwegian ports where the quays are barred to the public, says the Norwegian Telegraph Agency. This bears out reports that mutinies occurred among German occupation troops in Norway. Members of a German firing squad at Narvik who refused to shoot German mutineers were reported to be lined up with the accused, but a second firing squad also refused to shoot and all were sent southwards. “Goteborgsposten” says Hitler is withdrawing from Norway some specially trained regiments. There has been considerable regrouping of German forces in the last fortnight. The newspaper adds that part of the German navy, including large warships, left for Germany. Large numbers of bombers also left, probably for the Mediterranean.—P.A.
