NELSON GIRLS’ COLLEGE
ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY TO-MORROW
To-morrow (Saturday) the annual Garden Party of the Girls’ College is to be held in the school grounds. A special significance attaches to the function this year, as the end of 1942 marks the Diamond Jubilee of the College. Owing to prevailing conditions it has not been possible to arrange the customary celebrations, but it is hoped that on this occasion, in spite of difficulties, parents. Old Gilds and other friends of the school will express their interest by being present. A Shakespearean play, "A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” is to be presented out of doors, and during the interval afternoon tea will be served to the audience seated in the garden. For those who arrive later, there is to be tea in the College dining-room, followed by an Honours Drill Class performance. In the Western Wing examples of work done in the Arts and Crafts classes will be on view, and Science and Botany exhibits may be seen in the new building.
