Marianne Jannetier (Elizabeth Bergner). wealthy French girl, sweetheart of Andre Benoit (Basil Rathbone). politician, joins the underground movement against the invaders alter France has capitulated. She is assigned the post of piano player in the Cabaret La Coquin, a third rate cafe in a harbour town. Her work is to play specially written compositions which, through a cleverly hidden radio, transmits code messages to the British. The proprietress. Colette (Gale Sondegaard), and the bartender. Mouchc (Edward Cianntlli). are ardent patriots and conspirators. Here Marianne meets Nick Jordan (Randolph Scott). American, flying with the R.A.F.. who has been left behind when the British evacuated the Continent. She notices he is wounded and hides him in her room while the secret police search tor him. There are plenty of thrilling and exciting sequences. State, screenin gto-night: "Dangerous Moonlight.” starring Anton Walbrook with the co-operation of the fighter pilots of the R.A.F. and featuring the famous “Warsaw Concerto." The saga of a great Polish pianist who sacrifices career and happiness to play his part in the "Battle of Britain.” "Dangerous Moonlight” comes as a timely and notable attraction. Anton Walbrook interprets the main role with Sally Gray as an American heiress. Derrick de Marney as an Irish aviator. Percy

Parsons as a millionaire. Keneth Kent as a temperamental impresario and Cecil Parker as an eminent physician. The story tells of Walbrook, who at the time of the German invasion of Poland is serving with his country's air force. He escapes

to America, starts a concert tour and renews his friendship with Miss Gray. Romance and marriage follow, but when France falls Walbrook has an irresistible urge to join the Polish Air Force in Britain. Walbrook’s thrilling exploits in the "Battle of Britain.” his crash and loss of memory, his reconciliation with Miss Gray are * highlights in the thrill-laden narrative in which delightful music and subtle humour have been adroitly blended.

Johnny Thorn (Brod Crawford >. a young mining expert, and his iriend Klondike (Andy Devine) got the settlement of Haven to prospect for Nate Carson 'Lon Chaney), an unscrupulous trader. With them is Jim Allen (Stanley Andrews), carrying winter supplies to a group of settlers. During the trip Thorn rescues Waterlily (Willie Fung), a Chinaman. from drowning and Waterlily thereafter doggedly trails the miner and is responsible for important developments including the finding of a mine. As a first step to wreck the farm community. Carson burns the ship and the winter supplies. Allen starts down the river to get more food. Next day Thorn. Klondike. Waterlily and the latter’s son. Wellington Wong (Keye Luke), are prospecting when* they find Allen dead. Thrilling events follow. At length Thorn confronts Carson and there is a historic fist fight between them. Carson, beaten, begins to confess. And at that moment a new steamer comes whistling around the bend to save the settlers. In “Devil Pays Off” the plot deals with the exposure of a shipping magnate who has sold ships to the United States but has plotted with foreign Powers to allow their seizure.
