AIR TRAVEL IN CANADA Ottawa, April 7. The operations of Trans-Canada Air Lines in 1941 were marked by continued development and growth of passenger. mail and express business, extension of services to meet the growing demand for air transport, and increased utilisation of the personnel and plant facilities to serve the war effort. The number of passengers carried in 1941 increased 60 per cent., air mail i increased 50 per cent., and air expre-s increased 64 per cent, over 1940. Mad leads now approximate 5.000 pounds per day. This represents about a quar. ter of a million air letters per day. The transcontinental service was extended from Moncton to Halifax, a daily trip was added to the TorontoMontreal service and a new service wa< inaugurated between Toronto and New York. The operation of the Vau. couver-Seattle service was discontinued.
