WAIMEA COUNTY COUNCIL

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Waimea County Council was concluded yesterday afternoon. i The Waikato Hospital Board wrote asking for support of a resolution requesting a combined conference of the Municipal Association, Counties’ Association and Hospital Boards to discuss : hospital finance. The council endorsed the resolution. The chairman, Councillor J. Corder, and Councillor J. Pugh, were appointed to represent the council at the next . meeting of the Nelson Hospital Board . when contributory local body representatives will attend to discuss the board's levies. Mr J, Wilkinson, Tapawera, drew the ’ attention of the council to the river at J the Korere bridge. It was decided to reply that the council had the matter ‘ under consideration. The riding member (Mr E. S. Wratt) and the County Engineer (Mr W. Bulli- ’ vant) were given power to act in respect to repairs to a bridge at Sandy Bay which was the subject of a letter from Mr F. R. Quintal. The riding members and engineer were also authorised to act in regard tc repairs to Canaan road.
