LINKING PRIMARY PRODUCER INTERESTS The "Farmers’ Federation.” as it lias ‘ ' been appropriately named, has for some l months past been actively engaged in carrying out the important tasks for' which it was set up. states the annual report of the National Dairy Association. The Federation constitutes a much! needed connecting link between the various units of primary production, and 1 As time goes on will undoubtedly become increasingly valuable in protect- j ing the welfare of the farming community. and in creating a centre for the consideration and co-ordination of the difficult problems which beset the different sections., adds the report. The Council of the Federation comprises the following bodies, and the Council has; Dower to admit other organisation- at' its discretion .- N.Z. Farmers’ Union. N.Z. Sheepowners’ Federation. Dairy Industry. i Pig industry Council. ! Bobby Calf Pools, i Fruitgrowers’ Federation. ! United Wheatgrowers’ Association. 1 | Poultry Industry. Honey Industry. I Tobacco Growers' Federation. I Commercial Gardeners, Small-fruit Growers, Hop Growers. Maize Growers’ Association. Representation on the Council con-1 sists of four representatives each from the Dairy Industry. N.Z. Farmers’ Union, and the Sheepowners' Federa? i tion. and one each from the remaining eleven bodies. The present represen-i tatives for the Dairy Industrv are! Messrs W Marshall'. C P Agar. J. Dunlop and A. Linton, these appointments having been made through the Dairy Industry Council.
