CANADA AND RUSSIA
DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS ESTABLISHED (Rec. 2 p.m.) Rugby, June 12 An agreement establishing diplomatic relations between the U.S.S.R. and Canada was signed at the Soviet Embassy in London. The signatories were M. Maisky, Soviet Ambassador to London, and Mr Massey. High Commissioner for Canada in Britain. Consular relations between the two countries were restored some time ago and the present agreement, which comes into force at once, and is not subject to ratifications, has established direct diplomatic relations and provides for the exchange of ministers.—B.O.W.
