AMERICAN RUBBER SHORTAGE
Washington. June 11 The Under-Secretary of War. Mr Patterson, told the Senate Banking Committee that the armed forces were faced with a possible shortage of 200.000 ons of rubber in 1943. Army and Navy requirements during two months would be 800.°00 tons, while reserves were only 600.000. Mr P. ‘terson said the estimate was made after every possible economy, including removing rubber from tank tracks.—P.A.
