VISITING IN THE COUNTRY
Yesterday Mother and I hiked to Waimea West where we saw two lovely kittens. One is black, and some people sa.y that black cats are lucky. The other Is a dark tabby with four white paws. When their mistress is on the phone they run up her back on to her shoulder. Last Monday we cycled to Richmond. where we met a friend of mine from Nelson. To-day we went to Appleby on our bikes to my brother’s place. On the way home we had to pass some bullocks and cows. Some of them had ‘great big horns. We haven’t many flowers out now, only violets, pansies, a few polyanthus and two cinerarias. Edna Cross, IL.M.D., Richmond.
