NELSON P. AND T. WOMEN’S LEAGUE MONTHLY MEETING HEED j The monthly meetinK of the Nelson I P. mid T. Women’s LeaKue was held ini the Oddfellows Hall. The weather was) wet, but Mrs Spencer presided over a i (air attendance. Ttie roll call, “Wind l would 1 do, were 1 a man!” caused some amusement and was very well ! responded to It was decided to hold a I cake competition to raise funds foi l Christmas parcels for P. and T. members Bahtina overseas. Mrs Spencer | offered to make the cake and Mrs Lane | to ice it. The "best (lower” compete I lion was won by Mrs Amos, and "Best: plain white scones." by Mrs Spencer with Mrs Ruane second. The "bring and buy” stall was in the care of Mrs | Scadden and did quite a good business. 1 Afternoon tea Mas served by Mesdames Agar, Amos Clturcher and Carpenter, after which games were played.
