CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS
ALTERNATIVE SERVICE PROPOSALS (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) Wellington, This Day. The subject of alternative service for conscientious objectors had been under consideration by the Government, and an announcement would be made during the present week, stated the act-ing-Prime Minister (Mr Nash) in a written reply to a question in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon. A question had been asked by Mr W. J. Broadfoot (National. Waitomo), as to whether regulations would be introduced providing for conscientious objectors to perform alternative service at soldiers' rates of pay
