KILLED IN FLYING ACCIDENT

SERGEANT-PILOT W. FLEMING Advice that their son. Sergeant-Pilot W. Fleming, has been killed in an aircraft accident in England has been received by Mr and Mrs J. Fleming, Waimea road. Nelson. Sergeant Fleming left New Zealand for Canada early this year, gaining his Wings before going on to England. He was born at Port Chalmers, 20 years ago. but lived most of his life in Tahunanui and Nelson. He was educated at Nelson College and before enlisting in the Air Force was employed by J. H. Cock and Co., Ltd., whose flag was to-day flown at half-mast as a mark of respect. Sergeant Fleming was a promising member of the Nelson Golf Club, and was interested in many other branches of sport.
