BRITAIN’S NEW BOMB
TRYING TO FIND SECRET GERMANS’ DESPERATE EFFORTS ; (Rec. 12.15 p.m. > London, Aug. 6. | The Germans are trying desperately to discover the secret of Britain’s new and powerful bomb which is causing | devastation in Germany, reports the j Lisbon correspondent of the “Daily ! Telegraph.” A traveller from Berlin j told him that at one spot in Berlin War Office experts spent days search ! ing debris for fragments which would j give a clue to the construction and nature of the bomb. The traveller I said the building in which he lived was j shaken to its foundations by a bomb j which fell half a mile away. This ; bomb blew off roofs of houses and smashed windows over a radius of 600 j yards. RA F. raids on Germany have j been so severe that the whole of the (Black Forest holiday areas are crowded ! with evacuees from the Ruhr and Rhineland.—U.P.A.
