] The following Nelson Air Force recruits have been instructed to report at the Ground Training School. Harewood, for training as flight mechanics* F. Barltrop and R. W. Price. I Miss Thora McGlashen, formerly of ' Richmond, who is on the stuff of the : Grey hospital, has been successful in passing her State final nursing examination. Mr G. L. Page, who retired from the Mayoralty of Nelson, in May, and who up to that time had been chairman of the Nelson Provincial Patriotic Council, was elected as a member ex-officio of the patriotic council at a general meeting held last evening. The rej port of the executive stated: "The | executive wishes to record its gratitude : to Mr Page .or the efficient manner in j which he carried out his functions as chairman. Under his leadership the ! work of the executive has been discharged with the utmost harmony and ! his wise counsel has on all occasions \ been of the utmost value. The executive believes that notwithstanding his I resignation Mr Page will continue to ' take an active interest in the affairs ! of the council."
