WHAKAREWA BOYS’ HOME
ITo the Editorl I Sir. —We read with interest the visit I of the Nelson Synod to the Whakarewa ;■ Boys' Home at Motueka, but regret that ; no mention was made of the war service of “old boys” of the home, whose record is already a brave one. Twenty-three old boys are serving overseas and Whakarewa has been represented in the Western Desort. in ■ Greece and in Crete. From the Crete campaign one lad is missing. one wounded and prisoner and one sick in hospital. Whakarewa has no conscientious objectors amongst its old boys and all who have been medically examined were physically fit. These statistics are not complete but show that Whakarewa old boys are ■ bearing their share in the defence of their country.—l am etc.. E. STEWART Hate Matron), i Nelson. sth August.
