FOURTH INGLESIDE SUCCESSFUL EVENING The fourth Ingleside of the 1911 sea , son of the Nelson Provincial Scottish i Society was held lasi night in the Odd- : feilows’ Hall and was well attended. ; City Pipe Band played selections outside the hall. The programme consisted of modern and old-time dancing. Mr Clarrie Lee pi oviding the* music, while extras were ; piayed by Mrs Keir < piano-accordeon) and Mr A. Gascoigne. Chief Stanton acted as M.C. During the evening Miss Shirley Lock danced the Sailor’s Hornp.pe and Irish Jig. and Miss Pauline McKenzie gave two tap dances. Miss ; Jean McKenzie sang a solo most ac- 1 ceptably. All the items were well re- ; ceived Competition dances «Monte 1 Carlo ’ltd "spot” waltz) were also j held. Mr N. Banks played the bagpipes for the dancing, and Mr C. Lee the accompaniments. The ladies' committee provided a bountiful suppei. The next Ingleside w ill take place on j Ist September. Prior to the Ingleside the monthly j meeting of the society was held. The j Chief reported that all the Inglcsides showed a profit, and they were growing in popularity. The finances were improving and all accounts had I been squared up. Several new mem- 1 bers had been elected. |
