CARD PARTY AT POIIARA A very successful card parly giver by Mrs S. Taylor and Mrs MacFarlane of the Pohara Women’s Institute, a Mrs Taylor’s home, helped considerably, to swell the funds for the purchase o. soldiers’ parcels. Cards and competitions were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Mrs Cross was successfu at the card tables, the consolation prize going to Mrs G. Richmond. Competition No. 1 was won by Mrs Hart; No. 2 Mia J. 1 )n\ i<•; ; ing u ei-.!:' cel, Mrs J. Page and Mrs Schultz (tied* The prize for the last-named compelitioii was home-made sweets containec in the parcel, which was re-donatec to be sold in aid of the funds. ? "mystery parcel” was won by G. Pago The hostesses served a dainty afternoon tea. Net proceeds from the effor were £2 Is 9d.
