MANY ENEMY OBJECTIVES ATTACKED DAYLIGHT OFFENSIVE BY FIGHTERS j (Rec. l.h p.m.) Rugby, Aug. 3. | The R.A.F. was active over the Straits j of Dover and the coast of Northern France during the evening The weather ; was very clear in the Straits and anti- | aircraft shells bursting over the French coast in the direction of Calais were j seen from the British side. An Air Ministry communique states: ! "Aircraft of the Fighter Command again i carried out many offensive operations • over the Channel and Northern France I to-day (Sunday) A large number of | enemy objectives were attacked, patrol | vessels, aircraft on the ground, troops. * J gun-posts and an aerodrome raked with 1 j machine-gun and cannon fire from a i • iow level. Four enemy fighters were j shot down and one of ours is missing.” I ACTIVITY OVER BRITAIN An oflicial communique states that • early this afternoon enemy aircraft j dropped bombs at a place on the south- ; cast coast.
