NORWEGIAN CONSTITUTION
127th ANNIVERSARY HELD I British Official Wireless I Rugby, May 17. The following letter has been adiressed by Mr Churchill to the Norwegian Prime Minister: “I write to end you my greetings on the occasion if the Norwegian national day and the 27th anniversary of the Norwegian onstitution. This constitution enhrines the cardinal principles of naional independence, individual liberty nd the rule of law, for which the British Commonwealth, Norway and ur allies are fighting to-day. “Though for your countrymen, with Torway suffering under wicked Nazi omination, their national day must his year be one of sorrow rather than ejoicing, their spirit I know is unroken. They share with us and the eople of the United States the resolve hat the law of freedom and selfovernment shall not perish from the arth. I look forward to happier days o come, when Norwegians and other eoples now under German oppression an celebrate such days in peace and
prosperity.” King Haakon of Norway received the following message from the First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr Alexander: “On the anniversary of the Norwegian Constitution, I desire on behalf of the Admiralty and the Royal Navy to ex-
press to Your Majesty our admiration o-' the gallant fight being waged by the Royal Norwegian Navy in the battle which will lead to the final defeat of our common enemy.”
