HOPE SADDLE TO OWEN STATE HIGHWAY

BOARD KEEN TO SEE SECTION SEALED QUESTION OF AMOUNT OF MONEY AVAILABLE When the Main Highways Board recently visited the Nelson district it inspected the Hope Saddle to Owen section of Stale highway and was keen to have the eleven miles of road between the two points permanently sealed stated the chairman (Mr T. A. Johnston) at to-day’s meeting of the No. 11 District. Highways Council. The chairman explained that in considering all the items listed for attention the work provided for an expenditure of £58,000 in advance of the allocation and he had not been able to include the Owen-Hope Saddle sealing. However he would discuss the matter further with the Board and it was now a question if the board could make the extra money available.
