SIR ALLAN POWELL APPOINTED CHAIRMAN i British Official WirelesiRUGBY, 13th March. Sir Allan Powell, a member of the Import Duties Advisory Committee, has been appointed chairman of the board of governors of the British Broadcasting Corporation in place cf Mr R. C. Norman. The appointment is for five years from 19th ApriL Mr Norman, whose original appointment expired in 1937, and who remained at the Government’s request with a view to ensuring continuity when an important development was m progress at Broadcasting House, has asked to be released.
