CITY COUNCIL’S CONGRATULATIONS

SIR THEODORE RIGG S KNIGHTHOOD “I am sure that the news that Mr T. Rigg had been knighted has given a great deal of pleasure to the citizens of Nelson,” said the Mayor (Mr G. L. Page) at last night's meeting of the City Council. He pointed out that Sir Theodo-e Rigg had been director of the Cawthron Institute for a number of years, and had done splendid work, lie moved that the council extend its congratulations to Sir Theodore on the honour conferred on him.

In seconding the motion, which was carried. Councillor J. Glasgow said that no honour had been received with greater pleasure throughout the Dominion than that conferred on Sir Theodore. It was also an honour for fne Cawthron Institute, and credit was due to those responsible for the recommendation.
