The 2nd Infantry Brigade on the march on a newly-constructed motor road in the upper Shaktu Valley, North West Frontier, India. The improved communications due to the formation of over 100 miles of such roads have much facilitated the pacification of the troubled area, and large scale tribal resistance has now practically ceased.
