CHRISTMAS TRADE IN ENGLAND

“The Times” says the Bank of England has issued £25,000.000 worth of extra notes to meet the enormous demand for Christmas trade. As each will circulate through several hands it is reasonable to suggest that £100,000,000 is likely to be spent on festivities. The mint lias issued 4,000,000 George VI threepences and 15,000,000 new sixpences.
