CHILD KILLED AND FATHER INJURED

MOTOR-CAR STRUCK BY TRAIN IHv Telegraph -I'runs Awtciatlool ROTORUA, 20th December. A three-year-old child, Betty Denise Davies, was killed instantly, and her father, Mr William Davies, millhand, Ngongotabn, was injured, when a ear in which they were travelling was struck at the Ngongolaha railway crossing by the afternoon RoloruaFrankton Junction train. The ear was carried some distance by the engine, and was completely wrecked, the evild being picked up dead. Although Mr Davies was admitted to hospital, his injuries arc not serious.

Mr Davies was going to the railway yards from the township and apparently did not hear the approach of the train.
