TROTTING

WELLINGTON CLUB’S MEETING TO-MORROW AT HUTT PARK (By ’ Cuddle”) ' The Wellington Trotting Club will mold their Spring Meeting at the Hull | Park to-morrow, when followers of the light harness brigade should have a good afternoon. The acceptances larc good and mest of the classes are jdven, with prospects of fair dividends, i The opening c\ ■» l for trotters will 'probably see Winnie Parrish and j Swordsman disputing favouritism. Both should run well and the local repreI sentative Dcbuntantc may be the one jto offer the strongest opposition, j Prince Harvester is a fair sort, | The Hull Park Trial will find Anna Wong. Taruna and Twenty Grand in good demand, hut Leo. Berkett’s Charlie Chi'.n must have a great show on Ids 3.23 time when he won at Nelson. (Snowy Bingen is an improver. THE BOLLARD MEMORIAL Ten high-class improvers are carded for the Bollard Memorial of two miles, 4.33 class and it promises to be the highlight of the meeting. If Casanova moves off he must have a show and Frisco Lady is fancied quietly by her stable, while honest Navy Blue is always handy and will be improved by last Saturday’s race. Gold Dredge is solid but Little Nelson does not appeal. This leaves Iraq and Ironside, both possibilities but not much in favour, and the three who will probably fight out the finish are Lady Fame, Southern Smile and U. Scott. Lady Fame is Sa proved racehorse. Southern Smile is a brilliant mare up to one and a half Indies but one who can probably go a j good two miles now, U. Scott, who without a doubt will be the favourite, iis one who is brilliant over all dis- | tances. Provided U. Scott gets away on time the result may be U. Scott. Southern Smile. Lady Fame. FIRST CLASSIC OF SEASON The Wellington Stakes, the first classic of the season, should be a great race, and this time Sandusky is expected to turn the tables on Two’s Loose, with Refund and Horsepower battling for the minor place. A good field is listed for the Railway Handicap of one and a half miles, the pick of which appear to be Handicapper, Trevor de Oro and Ace Pot, with Pola Negri also handy at the finish. Trotters are again catered for with the two miles Wilfrod Handicap in which Swordsman and Orphan Bingen will be favoured with the distance.

For the Sharpe Handicap, of one and a quarter miles the investors will have to be guided by the form shown in the Trial. With the inclusion of Purser, the Wellington Handicap, of one and a quarter miles, has the same field as in the Bollard Memorial Handicap, and the same thee are selected again with perhaps the honours going to the unpenalised one.
